Juliet tried to tell Kate something and Jack said "Not yet."

My theory: Juliet was going to tell Kate: "The good news is, you're
pregnant with Sawyer's baby! The bad news is, you're going to die in 5
months!"

If they're dead already how do they get to DIE again?

Given the context of what Kate was blabbing about, I assumed it had something
to do with the inability to communicate off the Island. Jack didn't seem at
all excited that the satphone/radio had been discovered. It's almost like
Jack has given up on anyone except Ben saving him.

I agree. I think all Jack wanted Juliet to tell Kate was that since
the "sky turned pink" that sat phone is not going to work. He seemed
less interested in the fact that someone had parachuted onto the
island than in how Kate thought this person would be able to
communicate off the island. When he learned it was a sat phone, he
lost interest.

I go along with the pregnancy idea.

You got it wrong. Juliet wanted to tell Kate something and it was Jack
who said no.

First, Juliet isn't going to be an expert on sat phones and purple
skies. She probably doesn't understand that whole phenomenon herself.

Second, why would Jack refuse telling Kate? What's the harm in telling
Kate and Sayid not to waste their time with the sat phone?

It is simpler than that. Juliet has been telling him everything. In
other words, Juliet told Jack that she was supposed to be a mole in
their camp but switched to the Lostaway's side, and Jack knows about
the attack on the camp.

I agree. Moreover, I think the two have concocted a plan to turn the
tables on Ben and have kept it between themselves up 'til now, for
fear of compromising the plot.

I think their indifferent reaction to what Kate said is simply because
there is no way off the island as long as the Others are still "at the
controls", so to speak. I'm taking at face value that both Jack and
Juliet want off of the island in the worst way.

I think they were going to tell here that there is no way to
communicate to/from the island, but I like the idea that they have a
plan they have yet to reveal.

Probably something like "Radio won't work." I do hope Jack gets
punched in the head next week for his smugness. Jack is certainly
withholding information and may even be aware of Juliette's
assignment. Seems very strange that Juliette is willing to tell Sun
that she will die -- but not be willing to tell her what she and Ben
are doing.

Juliet is supposed to pull her doublecross and the others are
supposed to raid the camp.

I suspect she's going to double-doublecross the others and
attempt to thwart that raid.

Jacks in on the whole deal, they're just debating the
best way to tell everyone.

^^ See, I told you what she was up to, way back on May 3.

Why didn't you listen? Sheesh.

Maybe next time.

My theory is much cheesier.

Juliet was going to tell Kate: "Jack and I are engaged/married!"
