How DId Juliet Know That the Power to the Fence Was Turned Off?

I mean the power box was on the inside of the fence so she could not see
the lights. And she just ran right through the fence, to get to the
power box.

Because she knew the power was turned off.

She either knew necause she was conscious when they plopped her and
Kate in the jungle, and had to pass the fence...

Or, she knew when the Others left the OtherTown, they didn't need a
fence anymore since... they were leaving.

Or... she knew that in order to pass the fence (which circled the
compound) the power had to be turned off... the switch was on the
inside of the fence.

A better question would be... How did Juliet know WHICH pylon had the
keypad on it? Do they all have a keypad?

To be truly useful, not only should every pylon have a keypad, but
there needs to be a keypad on both sides of the pylons.

Placing the keypad on the outer side implies that the fence is used to
keep something IN as opposed to keeping something OUT.

But the keypad was on the inner side of the fence. Kate and Juliette
were outside the fence when being chased by Smokey and inside the fence
when she turned it on. They went through, turned on the fence then went
to Otherville, which was also inside the fence.

She knew because she wasn't really left behind. It's the same reason she
knew she had a key in her pocket for the handcuffs. My guess: she's the
new mole.

Or she *was* left behind, and woke up first, but not handcuffed to Kate.
She got the key to the handcuffs Kate was wearing, turned off the fence,
dragged Kate into the jungle, handcuffed herself to Kate, and pretended
to still be unconscious. This was done to set up a situation in which
she and Kate could bond. (Bonding in bondage.) She had to abort her
plan and unlock the cuffs when Smokey showed up.

-----------------------------
The thing is... what's the point?
Why "bond" with Kate?
She already had a bond with Jack.
She coulda tried Sayid... however....

Maybe because she figured that a good-lookin' blonde
could get any male attention and sympathy...
Of course that would leave Kate.
Sure, bond with Kate. But why?

The whole story was kinda stupid.
"Let's go to the jungle and handcuff ourselves
so we can walk back to the compound and pickup
Jack and Sayid."

It would have been easier just to handcuff Kate and
Juliette IN the compound and have the whole group trek
back to the Losties camp.

Of course that wouldn't have the television tittlation
of girls in cuffs, fighting in mud and rain. Whoo-hoo!
It was a Kate flashback episode.... but
If ya think about it...What a load of crappy writing.

A better exploration could be developed in the 4 people
making their way through the jungle back to LostieVillage.
Of, course that's what they have for NEXT week... but
probably for only 15 minutes or so...
but, damn, what a stupid episode. It went nowhere...it only
served to give some Kate backstory.

That's exactly the scenario I got out of the episode. She woke up
first, carried Kate out into the jungle, and handcuffed the two of
them together. Since she always had the key in her pocket, and knew
she had it, it's not as though the Others slipped it there while she
was unconscious. Notice she did not "wake up" until Kate seemed to be
about to use that knife she pilfered. She knew the fence was off
because she either turned it off herself, or had gone through it
taking Kate out into the jungle after the Others left and turned it
off.

I like your theory. It makes sense and seems plausible.

What if Juliet is telling the truth? IE: They were both gassed, and put
outside of the compound. As I mentioned in another post... It could be
a King Kong thing. If you're marked, smokey takes you out. Perhaps
this was the intention of the Others.
..Her waking up with the sound of the knife opening, could be all part
of her training. Just like how she instinctively ducked when Kate was
swinging the cue at her. ...Her instanty waking up like that, reminded
me of a scene from "The Gladiator". ...Jon

Do you really think that Juliet, *by herself*, carried an unconscious
Kate out past the fence and far enough away that it took them until
the following morning to get back?

Well, after tonight's episode we know that is exactly what happened.
Ben left Juliet the gas mask and he left with the rest of the Others,
so Juliet had to have dragged Kate out into the jungle by herself. And
in fact, that's what she said she did.

Thanks. It's not that I guessed it really, it just seemed to me that's
what Juliet implied when she explained to Kate why she had the key to
the handcuffs all along. I thought that the show made it pretty
obvious that Juliet had dragged Kate out into the jungle, but I guess
it wasn't so obvious since many people were arguing about it. Or maybe
the revelation at the end of last night's episode, when Ben instructs
Juliet to repeat the plan to him, came as a big surpise to many
viewers. It seemed predictable to me because it was exactly the kind
of scheme Ben would come up with.

How do you drag someone into a Jungle? It is hard enough to drag someone
on hard ground, or sand. So how could you possibly do it in heavy brush?
There is no way that Juliet could have pulled Kate that far into the
Jungle. I think the Lost writers are playing with us on this.

No, you're just being incredibly thick-headed, as always. It's a damn
television show, based on a fictitious story, for chrissakes. I bet you get
really flustered when spaceships explode in huge fireballs.

Sheesh, if we are supposed to believe that plane crash was survivable
in the first place, what's so hard about believing a larger, stronger
woman could drag a tiny one into the bush? I'm pretty sure the writers
didn't say "hey, Elizabeth, let's see if you really can drag
Evangeline a ways into the jungle" to see if it was really possible,
but they decided it was plausible and so that's the story. Ben could
not have helped Juliet do it because he is still in a wheel chair, so
that leaves Juliet herself. We already saw her toss Kate around like a
feather when Kate attacked her in the billiards room.

I'm pretty sure that in real life, someone would have been able to
figure out in eight hours' time that Nikki and Paolo weren't actually
dead, but that was the way the story went too.

It's implied that she dragged Kate out to the jungle; she would have
turned the fence off when doing so, and it apparently doesn't
automatically turn on again.
(I wonder if the fence was originally designed to keep Rover in...)

are the losties really stupid.

1)Kate saw Juliet bullshit about the handcuff /key and give a lamo excuse.
she's been on the island how long and needed kate for what? to what
survive? she oviously has more knowledge than Kate. This is a ploy and
Kate is just stupid. how many times can the other fuck em over.
honestly.

2) Jack totally mistrusted the "others", they constantly have fooled
him but now he's total accepted
Juliet? So how many more times can the others fuck him over too.
